Keil Kraft or Veron Police Launch.
« on: September 02, 2006, 09:27:50 am »

My boy has just discovered he likes model boats...Even converted his Lego Pirate boat with a motor and battery to run on the local pond. He keeps asking me about the first model I had, it was a 1950's Thames police lauch (Keil Kraft/Veron). I've been trying to hunt one down but not much luck. Found a picture of the real thing but no joy as re. getting plans or kit or even a boat to restore....any advice on a way forward. It got me into models so might start my 6 year old off on the right foot for a life long hobby.

You might also be thinking about the Aerokits Patrol Launch distributed by Keil Kraft in the 1950's and 60's
This was discussed in another thread on this Forum and there is a picture there:-

Reade Plastics, then the Northern Model Supply Company from the 1950's to 1990's, manufactured all of the fittings for the original Veron (Model Aircraft, Bournmouth) Police Launch kit including the P-31 Police Horn which was specific to that model.

These fittings are all now in their standard range at:
