MMB motor in a Perkassa

19.2 v 1/2 throttle

Full Throttle

24v1/throttle ....Not bad on the plane

24v 3/4 Throttle Now Begining to move a little

24v Full throttle BALLISTIC MISSILE ran like this for 45mins AWSOME

Same motor in a Mountfleet Pilot boat 1/2 throttle could b not get full due to slippage of coupling!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't ask.

I have been asked to edit this post to make clear that the coupling that was slipping was NOT an MMB Coupling.

My personal feelings and findings of this Motor is as follows, and by no means what I am about to say is criticism at all they are AWSOME beasts

up to 12v no water cooling needed at all, will swing a 60mm 4 blade prop all day giving you 6hrs+of fun
OVER 12v WATER cooling is needed as they get hot.I today used an Electronise(Sorry FLJ) for test purposes and it overheated numerous times
Running time on 2x9.6v stick packs giving 19.2 volts 45Min's with no probs at all
"""""""""""""""""""2x12v"""""""""""""""""""""24v Volts 55Min's run time BUT IT WAS FLAT OUT me being the hooligan(watch out Wickstead hear I come)

Get yourself 100 Li-Po's in series, 370v...

Will last about a second but in that time it will have covered the lake...

I had a phone call yesterday from someone with a Greek-sounding name but a suspiciously Welsh-sounding accent, asking if we did a speed controller suitable for 30+ volts....... As it happens, we do - but surely he can't be serious??!!

Stavros - the Aussies use Raboesch Type A 3-blade brass props on their loony boats. Might move more water for less current? Ron Dean is UK distributor, and I think SHG Marine stock them too.

Now I'm even more convinced that you are quite mad.

May I point this out that I have allready been certified as a lunatic as I have said in the past THERE IS NEVER A MOTOR FITTED TO A MODEL BOAT THAT IS TOO BIG .........THIS PROVES IT.

Bearing in mind that this is the BIGGEST Perkassa that is sold and is 49ins long and just remember 3 feet of this beast is out of the water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awsome

And specially for Mark a cropped version
