interested in a model they do, Galathee.

Antoine Lenormand (posts as 'ohlala' on subpirates) knows about this outfit, and has said good things about them.

Their products look like they work well, and are nicely designed.

just noticed i am now a captain. can i have a bigger board to handle the increased size in head?

I'd say the Delta is harder to build. Lots of cutting, sanding and making fit. Lots of tricky windows. Galathee looks like its up CNC cut parts that will easily fit together. Both are pretty neat :).

Quite a difference in price between those two models!

The Galathee looks a better bet to me, as it seems a very 'complete' kit- just add radio, batteries shake or stir.

The Delta does look more scale, that can be an advantage or disadvantage depending upon your own perspective.

if i remember correctlty, there is not a vast difference in price, they both come complete, apart from radio, batteries ect. am leaning torwards the Delta, as you say more work and i think it will look more realistic. Vac-form doesnt seem to look right to me, plasticy.
any way no real point in thinking about it till i get rid of a few targets. no rooom. other half playing up. nothing but sarcy remarks. along the lines of why dont i spend as much time fine tuning her as i do my "TOYS". Heathen.
oh well, cant live with them, cant murder them. shame.

423 Euros for the Delta with the ballast system vs 298 euros for the Galathee plus 36 euros for an (optional) accessory kit.

The static kit is of course cheaper, but you will need to grow your own ballast system.

There is no doubting that the Delta is a superior kit in terms of materials and scale fidelity, but the quality comes at a price.

oh, must have gone up since i last checked, or more likely the little grey matter has let me down again.
do think that the Delta is the better looking craft, straight from the box, as for performance, no idea.

Well you can fit a leveller to the Galathee, as it has rear vanes, and it has a shrouded prop which moves with the rudder, so I think it'll have an edge.

Having said that the Delta is a very docile model to control and handles well, it's just no speedster.

How's that x-craft coming along?

thought the x-craft would be a doddle. HU. having trouble at the front end, can not get it to look right.
left it alone for a while, while i sort out the Seehund. retro fitted WTC. not enough volume. cranky "illigitimate". going to try pumping water, might help. runing out of patience.
stupid damned hobby.

not sure as yet. it doesnt take a lot, just more than i have at present. was going to try again at the weekend, but after re-cutting the back end of the hull to give me a bit more acess room to move the rear WTC back i now find i have exposed the balsa wood. so that needs retreating before she sees water. see i cant swear on here, no bad thing, but boy i sure feel like it. it's become a real battle and i'm losing.
oh well.

I wouldn't mind a wager it's a pint or very close, in which case have a gander on ebay for the kind of medical bags used for drips and other things. They tend to be around the 500ml range which should be just the ticket. Strong and cheap.

bag size isnt a problem, having enough air is. bags i can get from HTG marine. thet do three sizes. and cheap.

Keeping the top of the WTC below the waterline will reduce the size of your ballast tank/bag considerably.

Retire the air pump, and fit a water pump- problem solved.

I'd recommend some form of 'cuff' for the sack if you go that route- else things could get messy if the pump jammed on for some reason.
