Placing photos between written paragraphs
« on: November 09, 2009, 02:43:57 pm »

Can anybody advise me on how to place photographs stored on my hard drive and place them between paragraphs in my write ups?

I'm sure it would be much easier for the reader to have photos placed with relevant text rather than have them all stacked at the bottom of the page and to keep flipping up and down the article.

But I have yet to master the technique >>:-(

All advice greatfully received :-))

Write write write. Then carriage return and click on the Insert Image button. Enter the URL of the image between the tags. Like I do here:

Hit return and then write some more!

Greggy,

What dreadnauught neglected to mention is that the image has to be on a website to use this method. If you insert a picture from your hard disc it appears at the end of your message. Most people use a photo hosting service and reference that.

Hi Greggy1964,

We used to have a photo hosting service that allowed photos to be placed anywhere in your post but the service was c--- and I deleted the feature recently.

There are a couple of workarounds:
1. Post shorter post say with 1 or 2 photos and description attached.
2. Use Photo buck to host your photos off forum and paste photo links back here. - http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=2277.msg108900#msg108900

eg.  1. See my build of the Bismark - http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=4024.msg39298#msg39298

eg. 2. Here's a picture hosted on Photobucket......

A line of text.... and here's another picture hosted on Photobucket......

I have a photobucket site already, I'll have a go when I next post something.

Or better still try it here. . . . . .

Erm just to make sure I've got it absolutely right here . . . . .  :-)

I've been playing again %)

There are lots of options I can use for each photo in my albums on photobucket.

If I right click an image it gives me the option of 'copy link location' or 'copy image location'

Which is the fastest option?

As although I have photobucket I'm new to it and its a minefield of options?

Your continued patience is most welcome :-)) O0 {-)
