I have a set of drawings for a 3 cylinder fash steam plant designed for a model aircraft at the turn of the century, and saw one fly some years ago.
Think I stick to putting steam in boats  :-)) :-))

I could never keep an electric plane in the air and was why I gave it up.  I don't think committing a steam engine to the mercy of the winds is a good idea for me!!

About thirty years ago, I spent time with model planes.  And crashing them and repairing them, and breaking and repairing ,,, ad infinitum

So I decided to return to boats - the worst they could is sink, and they did!  but the repairs were always easier than fixing planes.

P.S.  Biggles, what an incredible site - it's got me all fired up (no pun intended).  All I've got to do now is attach some wings and a barrage balloon to my tug ....

Got a picture of Max Hiram's watertube boiler that worked at 300(?)psi and supplied a truly high speed steam engine for his plane- he is just lifting it by hand no problem at all- truly steam engineering at it's best!
