with the little swell and waves rushing over the groyne it was like goin thru the sound, had it on its side near lost it wen waves came from boths sides tho!

i would get that kind of swell over the jetty in port erin bay, going to have to try that now

Looks very impressive riding the swell! Takes a brave man to put her in those conditions, don't think I would dare! I might have a go at making some working trawl nets, you've inspired me. With my luck they'll probably end up tangled in the prop though!  O0

go for it, its good fun, bit arkward with 2 nets but 1 is very easy, aslong as there further enough away from the boat they shudnt go in the prop

great pics especially with the nets out ,
could you tell me what motor and battery set  you have please .
i have the same model and installed the speed 900 from slipway but its to fast on 12v (and the speed controller gets warm) and not quite enough on 6v ( unless i have faulty 6v batteries)

running of a numax 12volt battery and the slipway 900 motor and viper 20 mtronixs speed controller, had i up n running near a year and no problems, good fun with the nets out, gets boring just sailing it round and round!

just a bit more if you don't mind
i also use a viper but a 25 amp model which does get warm (on 12v), have you notice of your speed con gets warm / hot after running at slow speeds??

not noticed it getting hot, its glued to the inside of the hull high up as it can be, ive noticed the motor gets abit hot but thats it, and thats wen im towing the nets so going slow most of the time

Thanks for the compliments Mick, we're all here to help each other. We never stop learning and if I can help anyone along the way Im happy to do so. I've been helped lots and have picked up lots of helpful advice on here. I'll be down Warwick with Our Lass 2 on the AT Boatyard stand, maybe see some Mayhemers down there, Dave.  :-))

hauling the nets in on the net drums then trying it in the pond. this is the Deans marine ready built version, we just put lights and winches etc. in it.

yeah filled both nets full of pond weed! bulk of about 30 boxexs of fish in both nets haha, not bad for a 5 minute tow  :-))

should have said patent pending hahaha could of made some money ah well, i'll stick to fishing. the motors that drive all 3 winches and both net drums are radar motors, cant remember the company that we got them from but when i find out i'l put it up on here.

know one was injured she broke her head rope when the dock was flushing the fleet she rolled over will be broken up now shame cause she was a cracking litttle boat :((

now trying to salvage the shalona will be a hard task laying at 45 degrees and full of silt if we get her back she will be converted to beam trawl for brown shrimps

few pics of mine finished, got the trawl doors and a scale net that works, (see pic of my other model st.amant) to fit and a few finishing touches and shes ready for the water, fitted an extra hatch forrad of the origanl for more accsess



nice spread on the net , port board look a bit dodgy , watch out you don't hook up on that  shity bottom might loose the gear LOL
