I notice there has not been any recent threads on the Perkasa but I have a 1/24 scale model that I want to rebuild and need a set of plans.

Does anyone know if this kit is still being made by anyone - if so I may be able to buy a set of plans from the current manufacturer.

My 1/24 scale Perkasa currently has a single motor drive and as part of the refurb I want to change it to a twin screw drive.

As I have no plans that may give some guidance on the position of these can anyone let me know the best length of prop shaft to buy and the best size of the two rudders I will need to give good steering. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The spacing between the two prop shafts would also be good to know rather than just guess at what looks right - even though that could well work well enough - what others have used that is known to work well could save some problems.

The measurement from the stern to the two rudder holes would also be very helpful as I can work back from this position to make the openings for the two prop shafts.

I would like to find a pair of prop shafts in brass or stainless that have the oiler tubes  already fitted, but if not I will fit some myself before I install them - again any recommendations for good quality tubes and rudders would be appreciated.

Thanks for any help that may be offered - it has been almost 50 years since I last built or refurbished a model boat and a lot of things have changed since then  - but fortunately many things also remain the same!

Thanks Dave,

I will ask around to see if I can find a copy of the building instructions as this may give me the information I need.

As with my request for a set of plans I would offer to pay for them ( including postage) as I appreciate any help that I can find and would not expect anyone to send them to me at a loss.

Bob.

Hello
Sorry for the late reply to this post. If the above efforts fail, I have the same boat still in the factory box in a pile of to do projects and I am sure the planes are there as well. I can dig it out, no embellishment, a make a copy of ALL the plans.

Let me know.

Hi Tom,

The 1/24 scale plans look good and should help me to make the parts I need and to position them all correctly - just what I need !

Don't worry about the delay - this will be a longer term project and a few more days won't make a lot of difference to me as I am just completing a bigger work bench to accommodate the Perkasa !

I look forward to hearing from you when you are ready!
