Operating Voltage

Good Day All

I'm currently building a model Bathurst Class Corvette, and intend to put in two MFA RE-385 5 pole motors (stated operating voltage 6 to 15 volts) controlled from a single viper 15 esc running from a single 6v 32.ah lead acid battery.

If I run the motors at 6 volts, will this damage either the motors or batteries.

Take care
Richard

No problem.  It should just sit there and work.  Applying a lower voltage to a motor rarely does any harm to the motor.  Its higher voltage, along with the resultant higher current that does the damage.  Performance will be down, but these were not high performance ships, so at 6 volts it should be at scale performance plus a bit for luck.

Hi There should be NO problem, these motors are low power low current. On 6v Both motors should not exceed 6A, well within the esc capability not sure the performance will be enough.

Cheers Tom
