Is it possible to use all lights of the puffer with this unit?

Hi Jan,

If the unit can't do all of the lights, is it not possible to fit a second unit. There should be enough space for the second unit to fit in. With fitting a second unit you could have the interior lights a dimmer or brighter then the mast lights.

Yeap, sleeping and I seem to have a cold coming on.... either that or I'm developing an allergy to the gallons of paint I seem to be using on the Puffer!

The Puffer is a great project and I'm developing a strong respect to all you guys that take on such models and even more so the scratch builders. Don't get me wrong the Puffer is a great kit and I'm really enjoying the build but I took it on with the wrong attitude, it's not a 100 Meter sprint, even a 200 or 400 Meter race.... it's definitely a marathon! Once I got my head around the time aspect of the build, it became easier... that and Jan's chasing emails!!!

Anyway the Action Twin Flicker can supply 200mA - 2 or 3 'grain wheat' bulbs or a string of LEDs see new video on review page on mayhem - http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/Builds/Puffer_Jan/Flasher.htm

I have already fitted the Puffer with 7 x 6 volt 'grain wheat' bulbs because I thought that bulbs would give less directional output and give a warmer glow than LEDs. To make the lights in the wheelhouse would need another Twin Flicker , cheap enough at £16 or we can "just" change the bulb for LED's..... can you get OFF White LED's???

What say you Jan, it's your boat?

I´m not quite sure but i guess that older puffers had only oil lamps in use. I dont think there was any electrical generator attached to the steam engine. So i think all lamps should have the same slightly "flickering", not only those attached to the mast. Thats why i think we should use all lamps with those units, if it is possible at this stage to change to it. If this means to buy another twin flicker, thats ok with me.

I must say that Martin is doing a real good job, the build is very time consuming, more then Martin and I expected

Don't try to stir paint with a Paper clip in a Dremel drill - well you can but don't turn the knob to full speed when you think your turning it off!!!

Right slight disaster..... the Campanion way & Toilet hut have gone missing !!!!
( Jan is 1. Gonna kill me. 2. Not believe me! )

OK The Puffer is near as dammit finished but my "good mate" Bradders decided "Today we clean the workshop!"
It been a long time coming and like all good modellers I was gonna do it next week anyway! But Bradders has his own way of doing things.... the only thing he didn't use was a bulldozer!

)

Well the workshop looks much .... different!
Lots of cupboards, shelves and racking moved around, tons of stuff in the skip and EVERYTHING rearranged...
I'd forgotten we had a carpet in here!

Anyway in all the flurry of activity ( bordering on maniac ) the Companion way and Sh--house are now AWOL!!!

We searched everywhere and then looked everywhere again which only resulted in another workshop tidy up and makeover but no missing woodwork

It not nice to be faced with "Skip diving" on a damp Friday night?!

I now stink of 'odour de Skip' but after an extensive search of a very big skip we didn't find them - I hate Bradders.

Now I have to make the two structures again ..... from scratch.

Well I'm now 4 hours into the reconstruction but I now need the hinges again,
HS93, yours look great, please tell you bought them, they're very cheap and available next day delivery!!! - I hate that Bradders bloke!

Tee hinges look best, can anyone ( apart from Bradders... I stopped speaking to him about 12:30 ) recommend a dolls house website where I can order some.... quickly!

Didn't get to the water today, electronics stop play.
Bradders found an interference problem with involved taking the motor out and attaching a capacitor suppressor kit.
All OK now.

Just left with a few bit of tinkering here and there....
