There we go, all issues quickly and reasonably clarified by Martin as we all expected.
Wasn't really a reason for everyone to fly off the handle was there?

Now let's enjoy ourselves at Mayhem!

martin
re your last post ! i just feel that its caused out rage because myself including others have worked personal and social life around this event with the view to getting a boat wet !

as for health and safety etc i fully understand where wicksteed park (not the mbc) are coming from on some issues but with our powerboats being to loud ! they comply with uk law of 80db ! yes i know loud and people think fast ! but perhaps wicksteed mbc havent given the suport it could have to this section !

people think health and safety is a out to upset them but its actually looking after people ! (please note i do come from a back ground where ive been heavly involved with health and safety )

as for sticking one on you hmmmmm {-) i think youd run when you saw me LOL as for this weekend i think i might resort back to original family plans and go away for the week !

if wicksteed don't want to promote model powerboats i feel this show may go like many others ! perhaps boat mayhem along with other clubs and societies may like to look at other venues to promote the whole hobby.

3. NO one is allowed over the train / level crossing unless accompanied by myself or the chairman of the Wicksteed MBC.
( With has been enforced by the Wicksteed management because of the old Health & Safety. )

Clarification: NO CARS or VANS are allowed over the level crossing once the trains start running, excepting emergencies.
Traders of course can park their vans, car in the sectioned off TRADERS AREA as last year within the constraints above..

Do we need a special licence to drive on the park now or will the one issued to me from the DVLA be sufficient??  I am sure I could see if there is a train coming when I cross the track, after all it is the same as pulling out from a side road onto a main road...........

Or is it??

On second thoughts, I have seen some real numpties when I am out on my bike who don't bother to look before pulling out...... Perhaps it is my fault, after all I was in their way......!!!!!!!

In view of the health and safty issues which seem to be abounding in this thread will it be OK for me to still come as I have had a heavy cold this week and wouldn't want to pass it on to all who may or maynot be attending Wicksteed.

Any idea what times the trains start/stop running......so we could avoid vehicle movements during the 'sensitive' hours?

Or is that too logical?

Hi Rex:
I believe trains run between 9:00 - 17:00

The WPmbc trolley is available for anyone that have large vessels or lots of equipment to bring 'alongside' ... my son and I are available as 'Sherpas for hire' throughout the weekend!  (cash-in-hand  only, no receipts!)

Of course you can Bill mate..... just so long as you don't scratch our 'wow' paint jobs.  {-) {-) {-)

Our new info leaflets are being printed as we speak so if you are interested in model offshore style racing, where we race etc why not pop along and ask for details.

At BMPRS we aim to provide you with an experience that may exceed your expectations  :-))
