Andy, that 4 bladed prop on the back will NEVER work - you can't have a constant 90 degree pitch  :P

Martin - making life difficult  %) - the little old ladies in the Oxfam shop looked very strangely at me when I asked if they had a sombrero - and when I mentioned thick black moustaches ....... I got thrown out!!  {-) {-) {-)

Cheers

Can I come..? where is wicksteed..barton Rd kettering NN15.. is that right ?

Haven't anything to sail/run at the moment, only just getting back into boats although I have some previous experience...45 years ago.

I do have an Aerokits Crash Tender 34" but it needs restoring and I can't find the 'plan' which I have somewhere ..no matter I don't need the plan.

I'll have to buy something just to show I can do it !

Anyone from the Blackpool/Preston area going, some tips would be good, if I can manage to attend O0

I'll find a photo of the tender....Hmmm...later maybe :embarrassed:

Managed to catch this before the modify button disappears..!

Does this work?
Ha yes it does..another miracle

I'm sure someone else has noticed it, but the Google Earth image was shot late on 24 May 2009, and you can see the tail-end of that event.

Any one in the Sheffield, Barnsley and Rotherham area
wanting a lift down to Wicksteed send me a PM.
Going down Friday to Sunday,
don't mind sharing the car,
but please make your own camping arrangements.  ;)

Martin.
Can we get wicky park to let us set up or tents and caravan near the buttom of the field?? It was nuts the BSA CLUB  near the lake and us at the top of the field.
I have just got back from Cornwall and all my booking paperwork was there for me.
My race boat had a bad day yesterday which i need to spend a bit of time shorting out but hopefully will be be shorted by wicky.  I am hoping for a fair turn out by members of the BMPRS this year and hopfully some demo racing on the big lake during the weekend, as long as the weed dose not clog it up.
Sorry if this is miss spelt as im onmy phone, not laptop down in Devon at the mo.

Hi all

Just a quick note to Bill D203 and others hoping to put boats on the big lake. This will not be allowed by Wicksteed Park as the lake will be in use by the general public using the row boats. Sorry but there was no easy way to say that. Also I hear that some of you may feel that you might try and lift our crown for the best flying tent award, many have tried!!

Hope the weather gods will give us better weather than today,
at the moment its thunder & lightning.

Ah, well - thanks for the heads up Paul :-))  At least it will save us carrying starters, battery, fuel, etc ...   O0
You'll just have to look at the boats while we drink advise folks on the joys of racing (whilst making appropriate "vrooooming" noises)  {-)
Perhaps Martin could allow a few minutes for us to have a quick whizz round the small pool with a tiny amount of throttle?  "The Bear" and his boat have sadly sailed off to the Arctic when he read about there being a load of "blonde bimbos" up there, so HE won't be coming showing off (always was a poser)   %% {-)

As for the Gazebo launch - we have had a special kevlar re-inforced one made which is incredibly light AND we are bringing a cylinder of helium - so the title will be ours   :P

Has everyone got their "genuine" mexican moustaches and Clint Eastwood blankets ready?  How about a prize for the largest diameter sombrero?

Can't wait!

Hi Danny

Before you go spending good money on cylinders of helium I should warn you that it has come to my notice that certain clubs have members being trained in the ancient and noble art of flatulence on demand, what more can I say!  Is this something the BMPRS could master, you could use as much 'throttle' as you like with that.

Well I don't know what you mean?? flatulence on demand!
Give me some petrol a boat and a very small pond and I normally lift the pulse rate of the punters around the pond. I think Stavros was very brave standing behind that pole with his camera last year.
Never mind we ran a demo or two in the past years I'm sure we can cope with it this year. I seem to recall bits of Tracy Ireland being raped round my prop last year when i ran my boat! Ask Steamboat Phil who spent all that time making them.
I'm looking forwards to it now . Who's table are we burning this year?????

Tracy Ireland being raped round my prop

Oh Bill!  I wouldn't normally dream of correcting your spelling, but in this case......

"Tracy Island being wrapped around my prop"

As to the flatulence, it's true - we don't do that sort of thing!  We daren't -  big boats and small ponds are likely to end up with "the real thing"!
