Hi, new to model boat building and finding out the hard way to do it right the 1st time.
I have fitted the rudder into my boat but do not seem to be getting the correct steering.
The rudder will go further in one direction than in the other. I must say that this is my first build and I have learned so much from a good friend who lives in Scotland. I just dont want to keep torturing him with questions.
Guys any help would be great.

SureShot,
Is it a single rudder?
If it is the best way is to use a steering rod from both sides of the servo horn connected to both sides of the tiller arm.
As long as the steering servo horn is pretty well centralised you can make minor adjustments to the tiller arm angle and this should ensure you get the same travel both ways and is a much more direct way of connecting the steering.

Thanks Bob for the reply. Yes it is a single rudder and thanks to the advice given by my  my local model shop I was trying to use one side of the servo.
I will now do as you have suggested and try both sides.
Thanks Bob

SureShot.
It is the safest and most direct way.
I always use it if I can, and even use this on twin rudders where possible.

and it is important to make sure the centreline of you servi output shaft is in line with your rudder post, especially if you are using the two sided connections, otherwise you will end up with more movement one way than the other and possible binding, especially wiht a "push pull" set up.
