U.S. Coast Guard 36 Foot MLB
« on: August 15, 2010, 04:40:39 PM »

We had a nice quiet day here at Lake Anna, the only surf was the wake from skiers. I took my MLB out for about an hour, everything ran fine. The boat has been in mothballs for a year or two, re-commissioned just this week. I'm using a 27M radio right now and will be changing it to a 75M later in the week. The 27 has too many glitches.

The boat is built from a "Coast Guard Models" F/G hull, deck, cabins etc scratch built from F/G, wood, Brass, Plastic and whatever else would work. Powered by a Pittman 700 size motor (6 Volt) and a "Novak Super Rooster" speed control and 2 7.2volt NiCad packs in parallel

I built it so all of the S/S and deck interlocked and made a 99% watertight deck in case of a rollover or excessive spray and a prop guard protects the wheel and rudder for those accidental groundings

Nice... what scale is she?

I thought of making one at 1/12, but plans seem to be a little thin on the ground, at least from this side of the pond.

The boat is 27 inches long, scale  3/4 " = 1 '

When I get home I'll look for the plans, if I still have them, they are yours.

I just picked this up from brian its a very solid boat. I am going to refinish it and detail it out but for now I will run her as she is.
