Graupner 650 motor upgrade?
« on: September 13, 2010, 08:46:48 pm »

Hi,

My brother has a formula 1 power boat (30 inches long) with a Graupner 650 engine. He was wondering to get more speed out of it should he upgrade the prop or get a brushless motor for it?

Thanks

Ben

1. Buy a selection of different size props.
2. Invest in better / metal props.
3. Service, maintenance, oil, tune, upgrade the bearings would be my first line of upgrade.
4. The Graupner Speed 600 is a standard 540/550 'buggy' motor  so any of the "hot" motors are an option.
5. Go brushless.

Caveat: With most options, you need to wary of not over-driving the unit!
