And then comes the rain!

Good evening! :-)
Yesterday, the weather was good but  suposed to change ( not so fast though) , so I decided to go and sail my old CANELLE before it is too bad!
Let me tell you about this yacht. She was built in 1925 in Munro Shipbuilding Co / Scotland. 27 M long Originally under steam , the new owner switched to diesel in 19?? and witdrawed the furnace. I kept the steam version of the boat.I do not know the full history, but I think she belonged to a Norwegian in first place.
Sailing away.




Let see inside: Saïto, Anton boiler and safety equipement + Regner Gas tank.
I'll pull out the engine as the boiler is too small capacity for it.And I am looking for a 3 to 5 cc max to move her. My Canelle is 1250cm long and weights about 8Kg.

Back to the shore to bleed of the pressure. Some drops and dark clouds showing up! {:-{


Oops! :embarrassed: 1x prop. 55mm and 1x prop. 50mm. But dont worry, I have two 55mm Raboesh on order. They rotate the same direction as I did not have enough gears to do a proper gear box.


Now, comes the rain and heavy: believe me! O0

Great look so real   :-)) :-)) :-))..Very nice it is...........ohh  haaaa a blond one...bot  i looking  after one by my selvs..........i think a Anton Cristal will fit the boat good...

thank you for sharing, it is one of the nicest boats I've had the pleasure of seeing.
She looks great with out a doll, but if you have your heart set, a scandinavian blonde would suit.

So what engine will you look for?

All three you have shown recently are all real beauties....
I bet you want the AL5 in this one !
(Thanks for the contact btw, got the searched one and may buy a boat as a start...)

Beautiful boat. What engine are you going to use in it instead of the too large Saito?

What a graceful looking boat-- she would be fun to sit on deck and have a glass of wine!! really like the Saito and twin screws- she must cruise about effortlessly !

I found the plan in a model boat magazine and I enlarged it.
Yes, I had to cut my wood sticks and glue them to end up w/ a hull.
What engine??? I'm looking for a 3 to 5cc max . I am looking for something different. Don't know what yet! ;)
I have to ask Logoman who always find diffrent things! O0

Hello fellows! :-)
I finally solved my problems on my TRVR . There was none in fact (but me). I just let the reverse handle bar to go too far and this kind of gears do not like it.At all.
I gave a trial on my bench ==> spited the water out and runned like if it seen an open pub! %)
An amazing torque will drive my fancy double propellers shafts gear box with no swet! %)
Only sorrow (kind of) . The range for adjusting the rpm one way or the other is not very large. :embarrassed:
2 new Propshop (equal size).Insulated steam lines .  And I am waiting for the weather to be more frindly to go try it in the lac. O0
I pulled the Saïto out to go on anther boat.

That's a lovely boat KBIO!  With regard to adjusting the rpm of that engine, you don't appear to have any throttle valve fitted on the steam line.  The lever at the side of the engine, to which you have attached the servo is for forward/reverse selection and isn't really intended for speed control.

You are definitivly right Aeronut! A valve is mandatory  to allow a smooth forward  & reverse.
I'll work it out.
