P & O's fist post-war liner

P&O's fine fleet of post-war passenger liners to Australia are not often modelled. Here is my 9-foot "HIMALAYA" model. R/C and lights up beautifully at night.

That,s a fine looking model there ,,, the sailors /deckhands had a permanent job ,with washing down and painting ,but she was a smart job .was on here when she did an Emigrant run .

Thanks for the kind comments.
I'm taking more photos right now. They will be just different views of the same setting. Will post the shortly. The model is actually "HO" gauge (hence it's size) so I can eventually incorporate it in a dock scene model with period railways people and cars.
Model is radio-controlled and floats well, although is has only travelled a few feet under power in a small swimming pool. Weighs in just shy of 50kg fullt ballasted.

Beautiful looking model, and as you say, not many modellers attempt such a project.....a real credit to you........would love to see the size of the railway layout though.......you'll need an aircraft hanger.

Completely agree Neil - I will need heaps of space. So Southhampton and Tilbury are out of the question, but Princes Pier in Melbourne should not tax my resources (or space) too heavily.
Included are another couple of photos - please accept my apology for the quality. It is pretty bad. My camera is very cheap and nasty ...

... and another shot. There are a number of items yet to be fitted such as crane winches, bollards and the like.
Please note my model does not attempt to be "museum quality". She was scratch-built basically using scrap materials from plans published in a 1961 modeller's magazine and lots of photos.

and I think any museum with an  association with Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation would be more that very happy to have that in their collection.
