Hi,
    i know this may seem like a very silly question but i have a graupner 600 8,4V motor and a Graupner 700 Turbo 9,6V motor.

Which is the cheapest ESC i can use to run both of these, not at the same time, and not in the same model.

So that i never have to ask this question again, whats the thing to look out for with the motor to decide which ESC i need to use with it.
is it the current drain at max efficiency, or the current when stalled?? or what else??

It depends on the prop, you should aim to use a prop so the motor so its running at max efficiency, though you can go a little higher in amps towards the "maximum power" rating.

you should never need an esc that exceeds the stalled rating of the motor for a boat, a fuse in the battery positive wire rated less than the ESC rating is recommended.
