They keep insisting on "Vintage" and "Hand built", wonder when "Veteran" And "Built by feet of trained monkey" will appear?

Vintage and FibreGlass don't seem to work??

Hi all, looks like an early 'Straight Runner', from the rudder control, the V could be the Victoria club.  Wonder where he gets his pricing from?

                                  Smart A*SED Seller ?

I was idly browsing the plastic kits section of Ebay when I noticed that a seller lad listed an Airfix kit of the visible IC  engine for a hundred quid more than Airfix's own retail price

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130630812308&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123#ht_818wt_1163

and further on in my browsing, yet another Airfix kit (visiible Jet Engine Kit) at the same hugely marked up price.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140735913693&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123#ht_796wt_1163

I did email the seller to enquire if these prices were a mistake, and this is the reply I received shortly afterward...seems they find it amusing to rip less knowledgeable punters off ?

Ours is fully gold plated, diamond studs, with titanium screws, bullet proof, auto assemble and prints money once started.Thankyou

Best and kind regards

Mo

Now the above is just what this thread is all about - making possibly less well-informed people aware of situations where someone is vastly over charging for an item available much cheaper elsewhere. Well done!

Incidentally, here is the kit on Airfix's site: http://www.airfix.com/airfix-products/airfix-engineer/a20005-airfix-engineer-jet-engine-a20005/

I got my Son one from Hobby Craft a couple of years ago for £ 19.99 , and in my opinion is a big waste of time.

I would hope that anybody using Ebay would also be wise enough to research on the web for prices before buying anything.. 8)

Not bad but not 1300 quids worth
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HMS-Cornwall-1-72-Scale-Model-of-a-Type-22-Frigate-F99-/300717753287?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item46042cc3c7

This is about the third time I know the seller has 'relisted'. I have emailed him to advise how unrealistic his expectations are, but he's just a greedy B****R!
Last time this was one a friend of mine had a Fleetscale one on that went for £700.

Hopefully there won't be any sucker out there!!
