Dear  Modellers
 I thought that you might like an update from  Farcet and to let you know what is new to the DEANS
MARINE range.
Details of the latest additions to the range follows along with brief details.
 This Compact Kit model is another addition  to our range for 2011, 
The FIRST RUN KITS  have now been released As always with first run kits, it will be a limited
edition.
  First run kit price will be £110..00

Steam Tug   Rumania
  The EMPIRE class tugs were of traditional design for single screw steam tugs similar to
previous types such as the Warrior class with variations in design and power to cover a
variety of roles.
 They were all  built between 1941 -1946 and all had steam triple expansion engines.
Some of the were coal fired others oil fired and the class gave excellent service with some
very long voyages from world wide bases to there credit.
 After the war. many were sold out of service and became the start of many companies that still run
todat,  The Rumania being one of them, she became one of the first tugs under the ownership of
William Watkins Ltd.
                                                  Compact kits
This  range of small prototypes ships to a scale of 1/96 -1/100 as per the larger ships on our range
Details and construction are similar to the rest of the models comprising of G/F hull, plastic s/structure. metal
& resin fittings, brass etched parts, plus rudder, prop & shaft.
  Full size colour plan & comprehensive instruction book including details on powering these diminutive models
with a standard servos giving main drive motor & electronic speed control are also included.
 All kits in the range have outstanding on the water performance as part of the design.

Hi just to put you right on a couple of points   The Rumania was not one of Wm Watkins first tugs  the Ex Empire Susan was the Third tug of that name that Watkins had owned and the company was formed as far back as 1833.

Watkins also never had a W in the funnell colours.and she never was fitted with a fat funnel she always had the original thin one.

The Rumania (3) was actually the last Ocean going tug that watkins ever had not the first.

Many thanks for bringing out the kit it is a pity that it was not put out before the Empire susan it would have saved me converting that kit.
