Recently, I bought a used model boat from a guy via Ebay. He sent me a message to say it had been sent by courier (name withheld). I did not receive it and contacted him. He supplied me with the date and time it had been delivered and the name of who had signed for it, details supplied by the courier by email which he copied to me.
I had asked for the parcel to be sent to my business to ensure that there was someone around to receive it, but there was no one of that name working in the firm or any of the adjacent businesses. The sender said he would query it with the couriers. Two days later, I was outside the garage talking to a customer when up draws a couriers van, out gets the driver and gives me the boat. When I asked how come this had been delivered and signed for previously, I got no answer, he just dived back in the van and drove off.
I had wondered about the seller, but he turned out to be perfectly honest and above board, the couriers are another matter. This is the second time they have pulled a stunt like this on me , which does speak well of a major national name in their industry
