Seen today just north of the BUTEC range , the crew were having a BBQ while waiting for another sub arriving about half an hour later , then both went onto the range

Very Unusual for an SSBN to be on the surface once it leaves the Clyde - the operational one would never surface
unless there was an emergency. Must be a post refit cruise.

This is my favourite type of sub, it's got style and substance. If I was ever to make one this would be it.

Armour plating Willie , fitted after the 7/7 terrorist attacks in London. Fitted there to protect the warheads from being hit by an RPG rocket , last thing we'd need is damage to that end of the missile !!!

Well, a "T" and an "A" have tried to move Skye, why not try it with a V - Bomber?
Regards Ian.

A Trafalgar class and an Astute class have both hit the rocks at Skye over the years Phil
