Interesting stuff there - particulary the waterproof brushless motor.
I wonder how long it would last? Impressive.

Andy surely any motor immersed in salt water would suffer internal corrosion. Or is the motor completly sealed? This i suppose is a new way to watercool a motor. John.

Salt water yes, ordinary water not so much, most brushless motors don't have an awful lot in them that corrodes anyway, besides the copper which tarnishes... I assume of course that people was their models out post run anyway

People reckon too that the best way to run a brushed motor in is underwater, though I can't remember why.

Andy,
Some did immerse fast motors in FRESH water and run them.
It was supposed to soften the brush compound to allow them to bed in quicker.
NOT running them immersed.

Some of our members regularily run their motors immersed in salt water, mind you, they dont realise this until they get back to the pond edge after an hour %%

I thought brushless motors just had a spring copper wiper arm ?  If that tarnishes that will cause a higher resistance motor, after awhile in salt water the motor will start to get a build up of corrosion and then then copper starts to revert back to it's natural ore, picking up calcium and salts from the water caused by the electrical current. If you want to immerse a drive impeller in water that would work really well.

no wiper arms nothing touches  the windings are fixed and the magnets spin.

I just used them It took about 11 days to get to the US. I thought the shipping cost we reasonable. One thing, I ordered two 4mm 550mm stainless steel prop shafts. They could have been packed better, a little bent, but I think I can straighten them out. I sent email and they replied same day, offered to replace upon me sending them back. Didn't want to go though the hassle
