hi mate.
sort the wires so they are both running the way you want.....CW OR CCW etc you will need to connect them each separately to see this.
the best way would be with a screw connector block.
once you have the direction sorted........with the wires labled....  A.B.C OR 123 ETC on both motors and the esc then put the esc in one side of the conector block and the motor wires in the other side.......assuming the total amp draw from BOTH motors is 25% below the rated esc amp.........
or it could well run very hot.

Yep - I've been using the setup in the first link in my Sentinel for a year or so with no major problems (2 x 540s with a Viper Marine 25 and a 7.2v 4300MaH battery). It gets a bit warm but nothing has 'died' yet. :-)

You will need left and right handed propellers too ..

How do i work out how many amps my motors will draw?  I have two speed 480 motors and my esc says "with reverse 20 amp,  continuous 50amp,  input voltage 7.2 v to 12v,  Bec 5v/1a.

Sorry about these dumb questions, i haven't done this before.

Thanks for being patient.

All depends on  what make of ESC you have ... If you look in the "all things electric  " or the black art there is lots of information there on Esc's and amps ...

The main thing is to put an inline fuse from the battery +ve positive  to Esc +ve  positive wire.. for a 20 amp Esc fit a 15  or 18 Amp fuse.

I'd read up alot on the forums too...
