HMS Aeneas (P427)
« on: March 20, 2007, 12:28:37 pm »

Hi,
Does anyone know if I can get a hull for this sub anywhere?
I have a set of plans and would like to model it?

Thanks

O-class hulls are available from Metcalf mouldings and OTW, but no Amphion class, they look similar though.

If you have plans, then you can have a go at a hull youself, perhaps?

I dont think I have the ability to attempt that, do you know of any web sites that show info on building hulls for model subs?

Thanks Mate,
Excellent site, is the blue foam that is used by our American cousins available in the UK?

Yes, but it can be a little tricky to source- we tend to use polyurethane foam for insulation over here (the yellow coloured stuff).

Blue foam is polystyrene based, also available in pink or white coloured.

You don't have to build in foam, you can use wood, clay, metal or plaster to build a master/plug.
