Saturday ! How ever Louise & my Grandson will be up on Sunday but it's down to you guys. It will be good to see you there. Tell Dad to bring his Lecky boat with charged up Battery's

Don't worry Alan the lake is at the correct height when we were last there on Sunday.
The ground is drying out so hopefully the tents won't become muddy too quickly!

Just realised how whoever called Andy from Models by Design might have got the impression that Wicksteed Park is flooded.
I sent out a precaution email informing everyone involved warning that the area used around the lake and railway was boggy and it might be worthwhile planning for a back up location near the lake for the traders incase of inclement conditions or if it had not dried up in time.
If anything a few weeks ago the water was pouring out of the lake through an overflow which was discovered by Wicksteed Park after they unplugged it! So we have bunged it up again and the water has returned to the correct depth, enough for Stravros and Phil to wade to their hearts content!

I certainly hope to be there, though it looks like I may have to go to Bristol that weekend now, but hopefully even if I do I can still make it to mayhem for 1 day.... will know by the end of this week.

Cheers mate, if I do pop over it will only be for a few hours with the grandkids, like many others I've got other stuff on that weekend now.
Never had a go with a Springer before, not sure if it's fast enough for me

Was it not the drain plug rather than the overflow ? Lakes can't go any lower than an overflow unless by leakage or evaporation

We have been asked by WPMBC if we can not pitch any gazebos/tents in the area of the red square in the picture until they have put their new marquee up. This is due to arrive at 15:00 on Friday, if after it is erected there is space between them and Martins marquee you can pitch up there.

They have also asked if we can not use the wooden shelter, circled in red as they want to use it for disabled scooter parking and their tombola.

I am sure you will all agree neither of these requests are going to be a big problem, or spoil what is going to be a great weekend.

Most reliable way to gauge weather;
Get up, put arm out of caravan ( posh people ) or tent ( paupers like me

)
If arm WET, put on rain proof clothes.
If DRY, put on rain proof clothes. ( will probably rain later )
If arm gets blown back, first check if tent still OK, then put on rain proof clothes. ( High winds mean low pressure, low pressure usually means RAIN )
That's how we do it in Yorkshire.
