Best releasing of "Magic Smoke" was in the afternoon.
I was standing on the bank by the railway when someone flew past me to the far end of the lake.
A few minutes later, the tell tail smell of fried electrics came drifting down the lake.
' I knew something was wrong when the boat went past with blue tinted windows... the windows aren't tinted!'

Cheers Martin! It was too hot to hold but lucky there was some water handy

The car stinks of burnt things and there's a nasty brown stain in the boat where it melted - fortunately that was the only nasty brown stain

Today was brilliant and I'll be back tomorrow with new ESC!

Well thats it for another year. Caravan parked up , Car unloaded, Boats unloaded but need cleaning now. Batterys to charge up. Gazebo in SMBC boat house drying out.

Well Iris and I are home , wouldn't have missed my annual bath for the world , Thanks to everybody who worked to put the week-end on , and to make things perfect we still had the caravan on the back when we arrived at the front door.

No it didn't rain, I heard that we suffered a rare occurrence of vertical mist!

Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, Wicksteed Park MBC wishes to thank everyone who attended, especially Martin and the Mayhem steering committee, for without them this fantastic event could not have been held.

It was nice to put names to faces and names to other names I had the chance to thank in person (Dodes, Bob K, Bill D203 to name just a few) who have helped with my model builds of HMS Gnat, CMB 213, K class submarine and queries in to the unknown dimensions of HMS Protector.

Might see some of you at the Doncaster show next weekend, that will be the last show I'll be visiting as my time is almost up and I'll be leaving the green land of England to enter the unknown (well to me!) of the freezing cold Falkland Islands in the South Atlantic for 4months! To quote a fellow mayhemer the penguins will be stealing my sanity one by one!

Until next year when we will get sunshine even if I have to mortgage my soul to get it.

It was great to chat with you Nick, and to see HMS Gnat close up. Wow ! It's larger than it looked in your build log, nice work. Thank you to everyone involved, it was a really enjoyable event. I especially loved the the many older warships out on the water. There is now a photo of my Skirmisher with an official 'Model Boat Mayhem' watermark. I am honoured ! See you all next year.

I had an absolutely brilliant time at my first Mayhem and look forward to many more opportunities to make the Straight Running Chairman look bad. Tee hee! You made me feel really welcome and the nightcaps and barbeques all went to making it so much fun. Can't wait to do it again soon....

congratulations to all you who upheld the good name of Mayhem at Wickiepark.Although I have never been,looks like there were some lovely models on show.

Well i was there on Saturday with my Queen Mary and Lorna Doone i must congratulate all involved on a cracking show with a good variety of boats on display.
I am looking into getting clearance from the management for staying to do some night sailing next year.

Safely back home after 321 miles round trip. Worth every mile. What a great show, meeting and putting names to faces. Had a fabulous time.

Well guys the border raiders are home at last. We had torrential vertical mist all the way up to the Lake District....then...lo and behold..... the roads dried up and the sun was splitting the sky.....Welcome to Scotland.

I'm having a beer while reading the posts and typing this and its just not the same without all the campsite banter and BBQ smoke...oh and not forgeting the Mayhem hospitallity.

Once again thanks to all for making the whole event possible and making us so welcome at the pond side and the camp site.
