Well what can I say, another great Mayhem weekend (rain what rain) great to meet up with old friends again, and make some new ones. The BBQ evenings were the best yet, for next year I will be brewing something up for our friends from Glasgow (who once again kept us amused.....and hung over---we'll get you  %) )
Took a little while to dry things out at home, but all done in rapid time, because  (you're gonna love this) had to go to workshop as Stephanie wants to build her own straight runner (I think she is taking this scoring more than me way too far  <*< ) well we have the keel and bulkheads done, all stringers on, prop shaft made, engine mounts made and motor lined up, and its only Tues........watch out next year  O0 O0
So I hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as I did (to old for running around the pond Stav  :o) Congratulations to Martin and family (I do like my tea) and a big thank you to all at the Wicksteed club for letting us come along and cause....well Mayhem, here's to next year.....
Sorry you guys missed it Slug.....but next year the weather will be ........well thats another story   ;)

Mayhem marquee in back garden... getting even wetter!
When is the sun going to come out again so I can get it washed, dried and packed away?

Will get to camera later on this week when every thing else is dry and packed away,
that will teach me to carry my spec's with me, instead of leaving them in the car.

improvements for next mayhem
1. NO vertical mist
2. One big BBQ like the one in the field that everyone can sit round and a couple can cook!
3. I think we should introduce a a home produce range. Younger at 70 could make Mayhem Marmalade!! Home brew is allowed. etc
4. Phil needs to learn to run faster so Stavs boats don't keep breaking!
5. Less burnt out ESC!!!
6. More FUN, There was Still loads but MORE needed!

A big thanks to WPMBC, Martin and family (even if everytime I went for a tea there was no hot water!!) the whole steering group. Our Northern Brethren, the Welsh contingent, Tommy the pooch, Richtea for the pics. Phil for supplying whatever it is he supplies an his constant banter. And most importantly to all those who attended. Without you all this just would not happen!

I was roped in to attend Jubilee celebrations at a village about 20 miles away from the park and managed to give em the slip for an hour so got a glimpse at the boats on the water and a prowl round the tents. I took a few photos, but none compare to those shown so far. I really must finish my build sometime soon! My missus is already talking about going abroad next Whit (2013), let me have confirmed dates so I can confound her.
ps. does the caravan site have hook-ups?

So the apprenticeship continues. Got all fired up to make my own boat and managed to persuade (bully/nag/threaten....) Phil into showing me how to do it. Not exactly the moment we arrived home but possibly 30 seconds later. I am very proud of the progress I have made and I only hope that nasty (paying) work doesn't get in the way too much. Mine or his! At the moment he has his 'health and safety' hat on and is banning me from having a spear or sword on the finished article (she's called Boadicea so I feel it's necessary) but I'm plotting a rubber one so she looks scary but can't do any damage. Has anyone had this problem before?

I'll have you know the instructions got wet, and never mentioned that it was not only a Gazebo, but it did quite well as an aircraft, followed very closely by doing a very good impression of a boat (straight runner of course)  :o
