I know Martin has had a nightmare with the web site recently, unfortunaltely Trevor the organiser of this event is still having trouble re-registaring for the forum. If you still want entry forms as an exhibitor or trader please contact Trevor, details above. Thanks Alan

Hello all.

Pleased to say we have had a great response to attend this years show from exhibitors and trade stand.

I have really appreciated how easy all of you who are coming has made the job of administring the event.

I look forward to meeting you all, and fingers crossed for good weather and general public attendance over the weekend.

Hi all,
it takes more than a shower and a slight breeze to stop hunter Systems attending this show. Just think of the Royals last week-end on the Thames.
We will see you all there.

Hi.   Is there any detail information about this event, like where it is.  I have found Alfold (south of Guildford) on various online maps but can't see a lake.  SatNav location would be nice.  I am hoping I can bring a boat on Saturday.  Sorry, I hear it's been going for something like 15 years but I've not been before.

Thank you Mark.    No lake shown on TomTom routefinder or Streetmap for that location though.

Can I please ask organisers that when events are posted on Mayhem, don't assume we've been coming for years and just need the date/s.
Is it indoor displays (like Brighton), or at a boating lake (like Wicksteed).  Directions please, plus a map and SatNav location.  Maybe a photo or two of past events might also encourage more to take part.

Sorry guys, but I have only been back into model making for a year and am looking for more events within driving range to visit.

i quite agree bob , ive also returned to the hobby after a few years away , ive also moved location by just over 100 miles , so those long established events that were close by are now not so close . im hoping we can get to this show ourselves on sunday , but this will depend on disabled acsess and weather conditions ?

Bob

It's easier to find than the map suggests. Trust your Satnav and look for the Springbok Estate sign - it's then plain sailing!

Sadly I can't go on Sunday (so I'll miss the Portsmouth shootout!) but will be there on Saturday - it's a great show!

Hi Bob

I can assure you we do not assume anything, though the show is well established this is our first year in administrating. We have posted as much details as possible and I have asked for anyone requiring info to PM so I can respond. Location is the Springbok Estate, Dunsfold Road, Alfold Surrey GU6 8EX. I can email over directions if needed, we are located off the A281 south of Guildford and North of Horsham. It is an outside event by the lake, with onsite facilities such as toilets, showers, camping, guest rooms and bar.

We welcome your queries and look forward to welcoming you.

Hi

See previous post for directions. I cannot guarentee the weather, though I am assured it always shines for the great Mr C (Founder of the Show). Disabled access is fairly good, though the event is held on a field alongside the lake. Comfort facilities can be accessed within main building that has disabled access. All you need to do is ask for help and I can assure you it will be there.

Hope you can make it.

Just got back from Alfold.  Wow !  That was one one excellently organised event, so glad I went.  Thanks for the directions.  The SatNav location got me to within half a mile then I picked up the signs to the show.  Certainly the largest event I have been to in the S.E..  Warm sunshine and a warmer welcome from all, including many I had met at other recent events.  I don't have a tent so could not stay over.  This is a definite must for next year.  Many thanks to the organisers.

Hearty congratulations to Trevor - Alfold definitely up to standard!

Hi to everyone that attended the boat show over what turned out to be a dry weekend, so it is no myth that the sun always shines on the great Mr C  :}

I take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and encouragement, plus it was great to see a few new faces this year, all who I believe had a enjoyable time.

Still gathering in the last of the money raised for the Merchant Seamen's War Memorial Society, but there is going to be a profit of well over £1,000 in support of the charity aims.

Next year's show is already booked in for the 1st & 2nd June 2013, so put it in your diary and look out for information via this site (if OK) in the near future.

Regards
