Well finally managed to seal the prop shaft on bath duck MK I, so dropped it in the bath and gave it a few test runs, up and down. It seems the desired high speed has most likely been achieved, managed to sink itself when I tried a quick full power run, so will need to make sure there's a tight seal at the front!
I uncovered a few problems though, firstly, on the first run 1 of the couplings came loose and I lost drive, closer inspection, I've fitted the wrong size insert, so will have to order a new 1, and will probably just replace the whole coupling with the proper Graupner 1.
Also just a couple of minutes playing in the bath, quick blasts forwards and then backwards, the motor got quite warm, that's easily sorted though as I have a spare cooling coil that I have already fitted, just need to 'plumb' it in. Got a Graupner water pump aswell so may fit that to cool it.
The esc was getting warm aswell, which I've not experienced before, it this normal? It's an Mtroniks viper 20, is it cos it's operating near its max, and so fitting the viper 40 I've got will cure this? Or do I somehow need to cool the ESC aswell?
And the last 'problem', though it's easily sorted, the servo Isabel is fitted in the wrong position, meaning I have to have the trim switch on full just to keep it straight, and the servo turns too far for right lock but doesn't give me full turn to the left, but I'll just extend the steering rod and move the servo arm round on the spline.
(hopefully) a video is attached, using photobucket, which I've not tried before...
