A thought, perhaps this, Doddgy Geezers, account of the meltdown could be put on the welcome page or at least a link to it from the News Box.

Might stop a lot of repetitious questions etc.

Big Bri still cant get back on.
He has tried re registering but it keeps coming up his IP address
is a known spamer and wont let him back

I know he is a few things but not a spamer

Any ideas???

I have now got back onto the site after the glitch - but my posts under my original user name have been assigned to U-33.
This is very odd?
What has happened to me??
I re- registered with different user name thinking that my old details would not be accepted - am I mistaken here?

I tried that straightaway - in fact I tried that again this morning but it just says incorrect password (which I know is Correct!)
So I re-registered with new name just to get back onto the site.

It would help us if we knew your OLD NAME

If this won't register then the current advice is to put the number 2 next to your old name and register.

That way we can assimilate them and link them together.

In an ideal world, there would be a sticky at the front of the forum, and this sort of advice would be added to it as the recovery progressed. I did try to give you a starter set of words....
