Suggestions for a yacht
« on: April 01, 2012, 10:58:24 pm »

I have a set of swing rig sails for a R36 racer. I am now interested in a scale yacht about 1m long that can take the sails. Any suggestions ?

ive been trying with a scale yacht moulding i bought last summer , see swing rig in this section , ive now given up on the rig and started to modify it to a conventional stationary mast and moving boom/ jib as ithe model spent more time going where the wind wanted to take it rather than where i want to sail !

Best looking for a 36R hull to match the rig.
At least the mast socket and the keel will be in the right
position to make the yacht sail reasonably well.
As Triumphjon has found out swing rigs are a lot different
in their sailing characteristics than conventional rigs.
