Just a few moments ago I threw caution to the wind and ordered the 1:40 Waveney Class Lifeboat
from Cornwall Boats.
All up including shipping to New Zealand just under NZ$90. So not to painful although I'm having it delivered to work so SWMBO doesn't get wind of it just yet.
Decided this was a good boat to start with - I like the look of it - and it is classed as a 'beginner' boat. I also decided on the 1:40 rather than the 1:20 as I think that a 3' long boat is just about right for a starter. The 1:20 would be longer than I am tall.
I'm going to remote control it and motors, gearboxes, servos and the like are completely foreign to me so would appreciate some help and advice on what type, size, etc. motors to get.
