SOMETHING VERY NEW Wildcat 53 windfarm support boat
« on: May 07, 2012, 11:19:24 pm »

Hi,I have just got my Wildcat 53 from Andy at Models By Design.
This is his newest boat and later this year Andy will be selling it as a kit.
It comes as a jetdrive or prop drive.
I am doing the wildcat as a jetdrive. (Island Tiger )
I have got the 40mm jetdrive units from KMB.
I will be running the jets on 2x 5045 900kv 1400watt brushless motors from giantcod.
here are some pictures of the the hull, top and running gear.
There is also some links to video's of Andys   enjoy
kind regards
Alan

Ok come on spill the beans what motors are in the Red one on Andys vids as it seems a far quicker one than the blue MY kind of Hooligan boat

Every so often you come across a model that just looks 'right' to your own eyes, and this one definitely sets me off.  It rides so beautifully with those waterjets.

Just come up from the workshop.
I have been cuting the holes for the jets.
I must say i was not looking forward to this part of the build.
Its the first time i have fitted these jet.
All i can say is do as it says read the instructions.
Well here is some pictures of my progress so far.

Alan

Nice work  :-)) I have one of Andy's Cygnus 38 fishing boats, very nice mouldings. I'd like to order another of his kits, but the shipping kills me  :((.

Hi Dave,

They opened for me so I took the opportunity of copying the address bar for you.

If you click on it then it might show whether you can access 'Postimage' site or not.

Failing that, try   http://postimage.org/   and enter the code above ..(image/6mn4iry07/)

Opens up to 1078 x 768 .

Looks pretty nippy on the water thrusters.

All i need to do is cut the cut outs on the transom and then it time to start painting.

Alan,

I assume the jets are commercially available? What are the details of them please.

Looking good and this will no doubt be a future project of mine!
