Thinking about it; I like your half uncovered row boat set so much I'd be happy to have it as a little diorama.
Reminds me of an old TV program title 'Small Objects of Desire' I can't remember any program content - sounds like collectables.

Thanks Bob. I've had my fair share of things going wrong, problems with varnishes etc... Having overcome all that I'm pleased with how the build is going. I take great care in getting things to fit smoothly with all the corners filled with styrene filler and sanded smooth. I airbrush as much as possible, although I do give in to spray cans from time to time.

Fantastic level of detailing!

Of course, as a German I am not familiar with the reading habits of the RNXS sailors.
So I had to look up the Starr Hamster Story and was amazed to find it also covered in Freddie Starr's Wikipedia article.
A considerable amount of his fame must stem from this story.
I wonder if "I ate that hamster" was a kind of a running gag in the Royal Navy referring to the humble culinary skills of the cabooses on board her Majesty's ships?

A good friend of mine did me the miniature copy of The Sun, not sure how he did it though? He also worked on my waterslide custom decals and ocean maps.

Last night and this morning I made up the three watertight doors (Sprayed with Tamiya Fine Primer Grey)

Hi there, your loyal is looking fantastic, I too have a similar regret to yours, I was asked by a guy that I used to work with when I was on the railways to build one for him as he had purchased the kit and was a little daunted by it, he thought I could do a better job than him, I wasn't so sure but agreed anyway!!! (got renumerated pretty well for it)....As it went the build was superb, a real pleasure and something to be proud of. It was my only build since the lesro thing I built some years previous and now I'm on the build again with my 43ft RSL (back to wood again).....I will return to grp and plastic again one day once my present model is finished (ish!!!). I would love to build a loyal again but it seems to have disappeared from radar screen.....maybe Lawrie (the ever so helpful man at the model slipway) will re-introduce it again sometime soon (hint hint!!!!!)

These decals are awesome!
(I know that "decal" probably is the wrong term but I lack the correct English vocabulary. Are they of the type you need to rub on the surface with a e.g. pen or blunt piece of metal?)
(edit: ah sorry, just reread your caption to the images in your post where you wrote "waterslide", then decal is maybe correct.)
What would your friend require as a master piece to produce them?

If you have an inkjet printer, and some matt varnish you can make your own very easily
The paper price is very reasonable too

I have been adding some wheelhouse details to help make things look a bit more realistic. My friend made a wall clock graphic (I made the clock frame from scrap plasti-card. He also made a wall calendar with the year 1975 (the year I was born). Pictured are some other electronic fittings under construction. To the left you can just make out a head rest of a seat.
