Ooh my gawd...much studying and pushing of buttons to come, methinks. I did turn the volume up...frightened the life out of me, by heck but that horn is loud! I turned it down again...quickly.  ;)

I've had it running round in the front room this morning, much more practice needed...'L' plates going on.  :embarrassed:

Right, I'll go push a few buttons and see what happens...thanks mate.

Looks very smart Rich, Christ you got a move on with that build, But I'm sure it started out as a Volvo  {-)

It looks like that fifth wheel need shifting forward to the other holes in the chassis rails though.

I'll be down next week for the battery's and I'll bring the Kingpin and tipping gear  :-))

Just had a thought, I expect your be repainting but if you want to keep the white and red Ill look out what colours they are, I know the red was a vw colour but cant remember the white was off the top of my head.

No problem Ian, the batteries won't be going anywhere.

Don't panic over the paint colours, I'm not touching it for a long while, I want to use it this year at a couple of shows.  When I do it'll be sprayed black, with the graveyard scene from the first Black Sabbath album along the sides, and named ''War Pig'' on the rear cab panel.

Good idea on moving the fifth wheel forward, I hadn't thought of that.  :-))

See you next week, mate...

Excellent job Sir.      :-)) :-))    :-))    :-))    :-))

Are you coming to Shepton Mallet Show Ground on the 2nd & 3rd of May  ??   The South West RC  truckers club will be there.  Hopefully my Clifton Bridge and roadway will be set up.  I'm going down on the Sunday.

Cheers

Just dug out the picture of it when I set it up in the garden.  It all folds away to fit in the Volvo.

Ken, it's not my build, Ian and I did a deal last night involving one truck and two part built submarines.

I'm not sure if I'll have a Motability car in time, but if I have...then look out, me, my truck and my trailer my well be there. And maybe my monster truck as well...

The baby of the fleet...a Midnight Pumpkin with altered bodyshell (flat bed cover, roll bar/wheelie bar/crash bar removed, chrome wheels, 2.4gHx radio.

Next job on this is to somehow make a blower intake scoop to go central on the bonnet, and a pair of exhausts for it.

And my work in progress project..a Kyosho Blizzard snow cat with a Kamtec VW LT bodyshell.  It now has a mixer unit for the two motors, a 6v 5a/h gel cell battery, HiViz led's, flashing amber beacon on the roof, roof rack, and is awaiting prospective son in law to spray it.

When it's been sprayed green and white, I have a r/c winch to go on the front lower chassis panel. It will be finished as an Alpine Rescue and Recovery vehicle.

I seem to swung the other way Jon  :o
I just let my one truck go and Rich is also having all the tipping gear I had for a tipper trailer, but....

I think it was last September/October time I started work on a MS Vliestroom, and since then I now have 2 part built sub's, A Bugsier on it's way to me (bought off here) oh and a  K class destroyer from ebay. (worst purchase ever bought from ebay) It has more tiny cracks in it's bottom than a.... well I don't know. I stuck it in a paddling pool to try it and ended up with more wet stuff on the inside than on the out  {-)

''I seem to swung the other way Jon...''    %)   Was that why you were nervous over the vaseline, Ian?

John...those snow cats are good fun, mine will almost climb a wall now. Nitro is no good for me, that's why I went for the electric version...now it's got a mixer fitted, it's so easy to drive...and it may make a nice load for my trailer behind the Scania.

Air box made up for the truck, just a tad's worth of sanding to go...(the box was originally a servo mounting tray for a Duplex 575 yacht...)

Waste not, want not, as my old mum would have said... O0

Ian, I've treated the Scania to a set of exhaust stacks...what do you  reckon to these?

Strange as I looked at them when I was building it, I even had a go at making my own from the ali tube you get on those weed killer spray bottles, but they didn't look right so that idea was scrapped.
Those will finish the cab nice though.

Are they hollow? you could fit a tiny smoke unit and plug it into the MFU where the vibration goes, Although you would need black/dark grey smoke.
or is that going a bit to far  :}

Have you ordered those curtain sets yet?

They should look really nice, got a few more bits n' bobs coming for it...abnormal load plate, TIR plate, that sort of thing.

I'm just making up a cradle and a load of some sort for the trailer...I'm thinking of a large diameter pipe of some sort, easy to make, coat of spray paint to finish it off...ropes/chains to secure it, job's a goodun'.

Yes, the pipes are hollow, but smoke? Hmm...might be a bridge too far!

Operational winch installed, crash bar and a couple of spotlamps installed. Just waiting on a Turnigy switch to turn up, then I can wire up the winch.

A quick update on my race truck project...wheel arches cut out, rear body pin made and installed, chassis is now rolling, just the rx to install when it arrives. Motor fitted, battery pack...still thinking about which one to use. Next job today is to cut out the front grilles and cover them from inside with alloy mesh, and work out the front body mounts...I'm thinking of using 10mm dia neowotsit magnets on alloy pillars.

Morning Ian...on a roll now mate, I like to get on when my hands allow me to get on.

Windows...hmm, not sure yet. I may try and cut them out, glaze the windscreen and put nylon mesh over the side windows, or I may just spray them grey.

Motor...promise you won't laugh, it's got a Ripmax Spirit 600 on the stock gearing, and running from a 6v Sub C battery pack, and I've got a MicroGyros 40amp esc which might just about fit...I hope.
