It's nearly been tipped out of the bl00dy window a few times today...I have a few ideas as to how to get it to tip, but so far each has failed. Miserably...

What you got in your cupboard then? Tell me more...

Very nice piece of engineering, indeed.    :-))    Great project.

I made a tipper which was fully automated.  Well worth it for the visual effect.  Have a loose flap on the back and all the  'stuff'  comes rolling out onto the floor.

cheers

Excellent looking model. It needs a good load of ballast or asphalt:O)

At our club meets we usually have a couple of areas containing garden centre soil, gravel, etc...the guys with  the loaders, shovels, JCB's, etc are always in these areas ready to load the tipper trucks. A tipper goes in one end, gets loaded, goes off to the other end of the circuit and tips the load...another tipper gets loaded and fetches it back again.

It provides Joe Public with something to watch, gives the machine operators a chance to play with their often very expensive machines, and gives the tipper drivers a chance to show off their trucks.

I belong to the North Kent RC Transport Group, Ian...we meet on a monthly basis at Detling Village Hall, just off the A249 Maidstone-Sittingbourne Road. We also get invited along to various other model shows in the Sussex/Kent areas.

Here's an update on my turntable ladder Fire engine.

I've made a cradle on the end of the ladders.  The whole unit is unpowered and merely rests on the cradle.  I was originally going to use hydraulics but realised the costs would be prohibitive, if indeed the power could be found to lift them.

The model will be powered for driving and light flashing etc. so that's the next job.  %)

My Doctor says I can't drive that far.    :((   Much as I would love to come up.

Thanks for thinking of me Dave.  All the best with the show.

Cheers

That's a cracking fire tender, Ken...really looks the part.

Here's a pic for you of the dog n' pup as it is at this moment, I think the roof levels are as good as I'm going to get them now.

I have a new set of body panels on order for the pup, these look terrible. Next up ...wiring up the lights. Not my favourite job... :embarrassed:

Very nice so far Rich,
New panels will make it even nicer.
The ironing board model making bench
was first used by the late Richard Densham
mainly for spraying.
Don't see any paint on yours :D

Thanks Ned...yes, coming along slowly. Just moved the battery pack from under the chassis to a place inside the box, that'll make life easier.

Once the new panels are installed and the pup lettered up, it'll be a lot better...especially when it's all lit up.

I remember Dickie D's use of the ironing board well, damn clever idea. I thought Lori bought the ironing for me to build my trucks on...it turns out she didn't.  :embarrassed:

Get your own one Rich, You could screw some MDF on it to give an oblong work surface (and make it impossible to iron on just in case :-)) )

Here you are, Ken...

New body panels fitted to the pup, lettering applied...looks much better, I think. Oh, and and I've fitted a draw hitch to the front...makes life a lot easier when manoeuvring in confined spaces.

Aw Shucks     :}

I haven't seen the sleeper before. Looks interesting. You must show us when it's fitted.  I follow your club on that Face book thingy.  I would come over to the meets but it's way too far for me.   :}

It'll look totally different, I think...might even arrange for a bedside light  O0

It's a shame it's so far for you...like your club, that's a fair hop for me. I don't like driving too far nowadays, done enough of that over the years.
