Someone please settle a long going, dragged out discussion within TMBC.
WHAT does TID stand for? We have answers from the sublime to the ridiculous...but perhaps the ridiculous one will win!

Hi Brian,

The description I have come across the most is "Tug Invasion Duty". Apparently no one knows for sure what it stands for.

I have got one to build at 1/32 if I ever get round to deciding what size shed to buy for a workshop. :-\

I just found this via Google.

Courtesy of the Steam Tug T I D 172 website. ( http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~tidtug/ )

"The origin of the 'TID' abbreviation remains uncertain with interpretations varying from; 'Tug Invasion Duty' to 'Tug in Dock' to 'Tug Intermediate Design' to 'Tiddler'."
