Alan, just wanted to say thanks for letting me be part of the crew and team, it was a great achievement for the group and everyone involved,  a great time, and some great memories and Daring performed faultlessly so all I can say to all mayhemers is keep watching the new build we have some BIG plans BUT Don't forget HMS Daring we have BIG plans for her to in 2014 :-))  Keep watching the website and Mayhem for news!
Don't forget you can still donate on line via our website below

Hi everyone, Well five years ago we were organising the Big Thames Cruise. We still had a lot of work to do on Daring at this time, finding the right motors and set up for her. We had a cruiser to organise and a boat show to pull together. This time five years ago we were exhibiting at Alexandra Palace.
Myself and Debbie have been sitting going over photos and talking about the cruise, the support and the way that Daring coped with the 250 mile trip.
Who thinks we should do something like this again?

regards
Alan and Debbie

In view of the recent model rail TV epic , coast to coast seems a likely challenge for a model boat especially if the full sized version  was built on the Clyde and needed to get to Rosyth naval base . A transit of the Forth and Clyde canal and the Union Canal , Glasgow to Edinburgh, might be an option.   No Loch Ness to contend with :}   Bonus, trip on the Falkirk Wheel and see the Kelpies. I don't know the mileage but towpaths and or service boat  should make it possible.
