Malta is a great place to liv but not a lot of model making tools here so im looking for all I can buy I don't have a very good budget though.Im really looking for a saw table as small as possible or plans to build one if anyone could come to my aid I would really appreciate it thank you . ***email address removed***

Good morning Shaun, here's a link to a good tool supplier.   http://www.expotools.com/   A little tip or two for posting on Mayhem, best not to use blue for your text as that is the colour that the moderators and admin use, and for your personal security, don't post your email address on an open forum. That aside, welcome to the madness and happy modeling.
Regards,
Nick.

Think you need to change the colour of your posts shaun............ BLUE IS absolutely AND unequivocally restricted only for Moderators making posts.................and it's also not a good idea to put your email address on open forum.....spammers paradise.....better to put it in your profile so only members can see it.

Hi Shaun
With regards to tools. Depending on the type of modelling you will do, you may not need that many.

There are mini-table saws on the market. Some are very cheap others very expensive, have a look on Amazon too, as they ship to Malta. However, think about what you want the saw for, and others can advise on if it is needed. I have bought many tools that I have only used once, some I have never used.

If you are working with wood, basic tools can be as few as
- sharp knife (scalpel or stanley type)
- cutting board
- steel ruler
- household screwdriver set
- rubber bands, for holding things together
- masking tape, for holding things together and for painting
- sand paper, for shaping and fine trimming of wood. Sand paper can be glued to small strips of wood and used like a file for shaping.
These are enough to get you started.

You can also add
- some clamps
- jewelers screwdriver
- jewelers mini hand drill

Most of the above you can find in hardware/diy stores

I am sure others will add to the list.

Hi Shaun,

Welcome to the forum, these are a great bunch of chaps  :-)  and always willing to help out with tons of advice.

I am in the same position as you re looking for tools, I found on this forum and with the recommendation of a woodworking friend on mine this site http://www.proxxon-direct.com/?gclid=CJW-5prF0bUCFeXKtAodDRQAkg
they have some lovely tools and a couple of table saws.

Looking forward to seeing your boat building adventures

Just adding to tiger's list, spring type clothes pegs make excellent modelers clamps, you can even reshape the business ends to  get into tighter places.  But get your own - don't do this with those belonging to the domestic boss.
