So im re painting my raf vospers hull, and have masked up the waterline so the bottom will be red oxide , only problem i have is the masking tape ive used must be going off as when ive come to take it off its left little bits of glue behind, what can i use to remove it without damaging the paint finish, ive got white spirit and panel wipe but panel wipe has been removing some colour from the paint too.

Was it cheap tape or old stock Tamiya?
Trying to clean it off while the paint is 'green'
is going to shift the paint as well as the sticky stuff.
Dave (Stavros) is the expert and will probably comment
helpfully when he sees the post.

Its probably a couple of months old but i dont know how long it had been on the shelf at the shop

Panel wipei would have reccomended it should not remove the paint at all white spirit will also do the job.
It sounds to me that the thinners have attacked the adhesive.....maybee a lesson learnt here thats why I advocate fine line tape or i sting tape for aa twotone finish.
