sort of a newbie.

Hi all. My name I Richard, I have been mucking around with rc for as long as I can remember but its been all cars trucks and even a full size dalek. But having only built one little boat many years ago I thought I better have a look online before I start my new project for some info. And I found this site. And it looks to be a very friendly one.
So here I go. I have just been given a very large model boat hull to play with. Its a deep v type power boat. And is 40 inches long 12 inches wide and 7 inches deep. And to be honest don't know where to start with a motor prop and rudder set up. My only restriction is it has got to be electric powered and would be great if the power source used 7.2 volt stick packs as I already have loads of these from my cars and trucks.
So any advice would be great. As I can't wait to get started on it. Also if anyone could recommend a good shop for parts. As the local ones round me seem to stock everything except boat bits. Lol
Thanks again Richard

Thanks. Rich.

Unfortunately a large boat will require a lot of power to get her going well.
Unfortunately it will cost a bit but your saving grace could be your battery packs as these in series will give 14.4 volts.

Depending on the mAH of the cells I would run 4 packs 2 series and 2 parallel doubling the capacity as well as the voltage
