GOOLE M.B.C

I have just noticed we are not in the club lists, so.
Just in case there is anyone out there who han not heard of the Goole model boat club
,
Hello and welcome.
We were established in 1997 by a group of friends who wanted to sail their boats , but like many others had nowhere to go .
Originally they would sail along the canal at the waterways museum with the intention of having a propper pond,
an offer of the boating lake in the local park was looked into but restoring it was far to expensive.
Then our current site became available and work began on excavating the pond .
Over the years the membership has grown and lot's of ideas have been put into practice , and now we have a wonderfull pond and site
with all the ammenities one could need, all this and our site is slap bang in the middle of the working docks at goole on one of Goole's important
historic sites, the No5 coal hoist. This is the last remaining structure which is unique to the area, and last year celebrated it's 100th birthday.
We sail every saturday and wednesday, but as the site is secure members can sail anytime they want day or night .
Visitors are always welcome either to the pond or our website wher you can find updated information on what's happening.

I like to build my boats to play with, not to just look pretty, so they dont !
