HP sauce
« on: June 24, 2013, 09:06:30 pm »

Couldn't find my digital Caliper this evening, so got out my old rusty Drapper tool Vernier caliper... rusty as Davey Jone's anchor!

A rub down with Fairey Power spay got some of it off but HP Sauce ( Daddies Sauce) brought it up like new!

Coca Cola is a great degreaser.... excellent for removing oil spots from you driveway
Strangely Pepsi max does not work anywhere near as well, neither does Cheap shops own cola

with a diet of Daddies sauce & Coca Cola.

Must be in the good food guide {-) {-)

Agree with the coca-cola - we used to use it to clean the carbon from the gas piston rod on the good old SLR.  O0

Pepsi max has no sugar, this may make a difference. Esp if the Cheap cola is diet.

Re HP, do not use it on bronze, or maybe only some bronze.
Not sure which bronze, but the regiment had a Crimean era small cannon in the Mess. They tried to clean it with brown sauce, and the cannon turned black. It would not clean off. The cannon was as good as destroyed when it was cleaned with an angle grinder. Typical of what happens when a Lt. Col. demands, 'I don't care how you do it, DO IT'.
