The above mast I had started has now been scrapped the reason being I was not 100% happy, so I have ordered more 5mm brass tube so when that comes I shall start again......sorry guys but it has to be right.

Regards Dave.

Looking great :-))  I've become more interested in RNLI lifeboats, after many tug models. Have ordered from Models By Design, like their products. Need to get better a soldering, my least favorite part of building  {:-{ (would much rather pant/weathering).

Dave,

I've ordered a Cyngus 33 fishing boat in 1/12th scale. Like their mouldings, shipping went well to the US. Am thinking about maybe the Tyne, Solent, or Watson class lifeboats. I like to build in 1/12 scale if I can.

Hi Mark, you have made a great choice, like you have said their moulding's are excellent and at 1/12 scale makes them a good size to work on. When you start your build please put a build log on the forum and you will find a lot of help and advice if you should need it. :-)) :-))

Regards Dave.

Been looking at the railings coming down from the flybridge and decided I am not 100% happy with them, so it's back to the drawing board. I have placed another order for more brass rod so once it arrives I shall start them again.

Regards Dave.

Are you using  Rods  or  Tubes.  ?

I've found that tubes are lighter and easy to bend and solder.

Ken

Hi Ken, I am using 3mm brass rod mate......I have a nice little bender that only does 3mm so the bending and the soldering is not a problem it was the height of the rails coming down the steps I was unhappy with.
I just put down to the fun of building boats......if it didn't do me head in from time to time it would get to the stage of not being a challenge, and then the fun building would be lost. :-))

Hi all, today I managed to do some more on the railings, there is still work to do on the mast and then I can fix it all in place. It's coming on slow but sure.

Hi all, today I managed to to get back into working on the Arun, as you can see I have made a start on the casualty lifts. The next job will be the hand rails along each side of the superstructure and then a good rubbing down ready to get some paint on.

Regards Dave.
