Dave,
there are a good set of plans available from the RNLI  at a very reasonable price, for the Arun Lifeboat. They are in !/12th scale,I believe, and all measurements you are asking can be worked out from them.It would save you a lot of time in your build?
Cheers,

Thanks Mick, I have the hull and superstructure on order from models by design ....but while I am waiting to collect it I am trying to get as much in as I can ready. As far as I know plans come with it.

Best regards Dave.

You will get a sketch plan at the best.
The RNLI plans at modest cost are a
'must have'

Hi all, what are your thoughts on cabin windows. As I will not be fitting out the interior would it be best to blacken out the windows or fit clear glazing.... your thoughts please.

Hi all, with the Blackpool show coming up and I am putting together a list I would like to ask which would be best suited to a boat this size, M4 or M5 shafts.

before ordering or buying shafts.

Thinking the scale speed for a 1:12 model may be 1/12 actual speed? The maths: 20 knots = 37 km/hour divided by 12 is about 3 km/hour - a slow walking pace....

Hope that helps..?

As I am use to tugs and running them on car fan motors I have never had to worry about the amount of amps getting drawn, so now I am moving onto lifeboats and the set up I am using being two 850 motors driving 4 blade 55mm props what are your thoughts on speed controllers.

Regards Dave.

Dont forget to put Substantial TOWING hitches on the back , to 'rescue' broken down boat's  O0
Maybe think about water cooling on t'motors ?
Micro gyro's FR40's the way to go with E S C's depending on the voltage , MTRONIKS(genuine ones ) otherwise . . .

Thanks Bill, as for cooling the motors I was thinking of a fan.......but I will look at the water cooled option as well.
Micro gyro's forgot about them and have used them in the passed but went off them when I had one go on fire.

Hi all, been looking into sound systems today and have decided on the robbe sound module navy from Cornwall models as I like the idea of the engine sound continues even when say the horn sounds.

Hi Dave if you can get fans from old computers they are generally better quality than the ones sold in hobby stores & better yet are usually free. Mick B.
