Ken, If I can get My ship to pick up and deploy a submarine, im sure you can get the crane to work, which will be a real neat feature.

Thank you all for your comments. Yes, it's full time at the moment. I didn't want to do two on the go, but the forthcoming Mayhem Bash has spurred me on.

I'm currently working on Red Pelican and Boston Typhoon and spend about 6 hours a day on them.  Vliestroom will have her movie made when the sun comes out   (will it ever)

Cheers...Ken

Lovely sunny day today. Off to the club meeting at the lake.

                               ICE

A small patch of wet had been cleared, but no one had an Icebreaker type of boat, so we had to stay in small cleared bit. Amazing how much weight you need for ice driving. I tried the boundaries of it but felt damage might ensue, so stayed in the wet bit.

I've taken these stills pictures and made a movie of my attempts. All I have to do is make another film for U-Tube. Watch this space.

Well, here we go.

The video of Vliestroom part 2, is up and running. This one shows a brief outline of the workshop build first and goes on to show movies of the crane and sailing capabilities.

As mentioned earlier, the ICE breaking powers are limited, to say the least. I didn't want her belly flopping up on to the stuff. It might have been a week before she floated again.   ;D

She looks good Ken and a very professional video.

Oh, just one thing, your title "Of to the lake" the "of" should have two fs.

Sorry :embarrassed:

Thank you Richard. I do like everything right, so I'll be over there later to modify it. Can't seem to get the end of our letters page....... ::)

It's all so interesting. No wonder my latest builds are taking their time.

Cheers...Ken

I've had a look and found it's embedded in the film, so it cannot be altered without withdrawing it and making another film , and waiting one hour to download it again. Phew....I'll leave it on with an apology.  (another learning curve eh !!)  (thank goodness Martin has spell chicker on here)

hej  :)

Why have you used plank on the roof? Have you seen that on the original ship? Any photos to back up this idea?

Hi grzegorz75

It was just an idea I had to improve the look. I think it helps smarten her up for exhibitions. Not everyone knows how she was built.  It did help me win the Chairman's Shield at my local club, however, so I'm quite pleased with that.

Keep up your excellent work. I really admire your detail and watching with interest.

Cheers...Ken

Thanks Gary.

I have got some decent motors and gears now, so I might proceed with the crane mobility design. I'd love to get this working, and it would finish the model off nicely.
