Paul
shapeways have printers all over the world. I have had parts printed in FUD and they have come from both the UK and Holland.
Shapeways head office I believe is in New York

The shop I tried to get 3D parts from recommended acrylic paints. Soemthing I rarely use and have little of.   :((
Well I got my Shapeways RN Sea Archers the other day and put them together. Very nice goodies. As the only paint I have in RN grey is enamel, I thought I would try it. Undercoated in a normal spray can paint, then hand painted (nearly dry brushed) with enamel. Went on OK though did seem to take longer to dry than normal.

I always "Borrow" the wife's ultra sonic jewellery cleaner and give the parts a good cleaning in warm soapy water, then rinse and clean again in warm water to remove the detergent. This gives mean a very clean surface and the paint goes on well.

No, its no problem, as it is too technical for her, so I always get the job of cleaning her Jewellery.  :-))

And a painted ASROC accessory set in 1:96. The trolley handles are 0.2mm wire.

New for this month - Cross linked Anchor Chain.

400mm of 11.5 links per inch cross link chain complete with Anchor shackles at both ends. All links are solid as the chain is printed in one piece.

https://www.shapeways.com/model/2201040/cross-link-anchor-chain-with-anchor-shackles.html?li=aeTabs

This is purely for accurate representation on a model as the chain would not be strong enough for a working feature.

Yes I did.

I took some photos with the camera in the mobile and as soon as I figure out how to get them out I will post them.

I am working on 1/96th, but once they are done they can be easily scaled to 1/72nd.

Thanks!

I should think, so but may have to just adjust some of the detail, I will keep this in mind while working on them.
