Done as a first trial at producing superstructure, but a subject a lot of modellers don't like - modern enclosed bridges :o

Now available - Leander class bridge top 1:96

https://www.shapeways.com/model/2785434/leander-bridge-top-1-96.html?materialId=61

Rebates are set up on the inside of the model for glazing and the assembly details have the sizes and quantities included (see Below).

Others can be available if you have drawings and dimensions!

Big thumbs up for Shapeways.com.

Despite being an unusual variant at an odd scale, in less less than two weeks I had a set of six immaculate 3D printed 4 barrel Nordenfelt machine guns on my workbench.

    Gun is 24 mm long

Speed of response, quality and low cost are all Five Star IMO.

Hi,

Back to painting these Quad Vickers.

The ultrasonic Cleaner arrived and three minutes later they look just the same but will presume they are clean.

Snap, mine arrived today too, cleaned them, put them in the sun to dry and a quick spray of grey. Seems to have adhered OK.

The ultra sonic cleaner will just make sure that all the remaining residue from the printing is removed.

You will probably not notice any visual difference, but the paint will certainly go on properly.

I'm amazed at the quality and the excellent service, I ordered two 4.5 links per inch 900mm long chains and they arrived in less than a week! I'm that happy I've ordered the skirmisher gun set with a few spare for my majestic class battleship to pre date her back to 1896. Keep up the excellent work Mark. :-))

You mean these? If so Marmoi would be duplicating what is available rather than having the market to himself. Being the sole producer seems the better idea to me.  :-)

Do you have drawings?

I am already working on some pulleys.

I've been having fun with drawings. I only have these which are Norman Ough's and from which the davits in the photo were made. I'm not too sure if they are good enough and I had forgotten that there was more than one shape. A "fatter" one for the motor boats as they had more beam. These drawings should print out at actual size for 1/72 scale. Crossing fingers again.

Hi Marmoi,

I tried a dab of paint on the frame and it holds ok so I will now undercoat both guns, change to a smaller brush and detail them.

Take care of the trumpet ends to the barrels, I've lost 2 so far trying to paint them black. :((

The bofors will have larger barrels so should not be as delicate.

Sorry, missed this message. I have downloaded the drawings and will have a look at them when I get back from HK.

Hi Marmoi,

I now have a Quad Vickers in grey undercoat and it will not come off even when scrapped with a knife.

The Sonic Cleaner must have done its job well!

The armoured bridge from an S100 E-Boat in 1/24 scale would be of particular interest to me. I know there's a 1/35 scale armoured bridge on sale via White Ensign Models and others but nothing in 1/24 scale.

Yes, once cleaned properly, paint takes to the prints very well.

That would be quite big for a resin print, but could be looked at for printing in Nylon.

I would need detailed drawings though.

Hi,

I would be interested in a 1/24 scale S100 type armoured bridge also.

Graham

I've got this if it's any use!  I think the original plan was 1/50th scale but it shows the angles and such quite clearly.  I could e-mail the whole plan but it's 3 quite big files.
