I would definitely buy the STAAG 40mm mounts if you were able to produce them. Got my 3 pounder saluting guns already and they are excellent. Cheers.  :-))

Had my 12pdr and 3pdr guns arrive last week, very impressive, one of the 3pdrs is sitting on top of my gun turret on my majestic class battleship. Excellent service Mark! :-))

To go with the Leander bridge top, there is now a County class bridge top as well

I have not forgotten the S100 bridge, its just taking a bit of serious geometric work to get it right!  %%

If anyone is going to the Leamington - International Model Boat show - this weekend, I have a few of my models on the Burton stand if you want to pop along and have a look. I will be there on Saturday and Sunday if you want to have a chat.

The S100 1:24 bridge is drawn up now, can someone check these dimensions?  %)

Hi Marmomi,

I see you are based in the UK can you explain why the items supplied come from NL instead of the UK?

They also come from New York. I suppose that is where the actual machines are.

Re 1/24 S100 bridge dimensions.
Taking measurements off my 1/25 plans the measurements were:
Height 50mm
Fore-aft 140mm
Athwartships 164mm
They would be slightly different for a 1/24 scale but only slightly - a mill or two.
Please wait to see if any other confirmation comes in.
Design looks good and would help me a lot, depending on price of course.

Ok, I have had 2 replies and the dimensions seem near enough correct without an original dimensioned drawing., so I have released the model;

Thank you for your help

As the model is so large it will be produced in the sintered Nylon material, which gives it very good strength. To finish this material I would advise the use of a spray filler and rub down with fine wet and dry.

These two have been in the pipe for a while, but needed a bit of experimentation to get right.

The blocks will need finishing with copper eyelets (see assembly instructions for details), as the printed material at this size proved far to brittle.

There has long be a requirement for scale 1:96 pulley blocks and cargo pulleys, I hope with these they should now be possible.

The pulley blocks come in a set of 48;

The Cargo pulleys come in a set of 16;

Hi,
Photo of my Shapeways S100 bridge received today.

If Marmoi happens to look package indicates Matl as WSF SH# 1 #1/1.
Is this the Sintered Nylon Matl that you indicated in the earlier post.

Hi Graham,

Yes, WSF is "White Strong and Flexible" which is the sintered Nylon.

I am using sintered nylon for the 1:96 fittings on our ferry kits.
In tests, the parts glue together well with a medium thickness superglue and take humbrol paint easily.
With the paint, however, be careful because it will bleed through the material. Once applied, you cannot remove it - it soaks into the component due to the way that the part is built up on the 3D printer....it is porous on the microscopic level!!!

I always give the parts a gentle rub down and then seal the parts with Halfords filler primer and rub down with 1200 wet & dry and lots of water, this levels the surface and acts as a good base for the final finish.
