« on: February 17, 2014, 11:47:13 pm »

Hello from Scotland....I,ve recently retired and could,nt see myself pottering around in the garden...so i thought i,d try model boats,....i always liked the look of them German E boat type one,s..and got a big one on ebay at Christmas,it looked good in the pics,..so i bid on it and got it for £99...a bargain i thought...Ha...not so much of a bargain when it arrived....but..i made the best of a bad joke..and after spending some money, and getting a lot of encouragement from the secretary of the Edinburgh model boat club,..i now have a model that i,m happy with....it,ll never win any prizes but...it runs well, and its mine ..hope to learn from you experts, thanks for having me

Thanks Larry.
here,s my model, when i got it it had issues...some of which were rectifiable...whilst other ..well,i,m just going to live with them..the major flaws are the out of scale guns, and the small depth charges...but when its in the middle of the pond..nobody bar a rivetcounter can tell the difference,..when it came to me it had 3 x 600 motors running 3 x 35mm plastic props,..i,ve since fitted new 50mm D Type props from propshop,...the rudders have been altered, the 2 small outside ones have been moved and are now inline with the props..the reason for this is, i took out the centre motor,..these rudders have also be enlarged,to give it a better turn,I,ve added 9 crew members,..and am happy with what i,ve got,...altogether its cost me £200..and that includes all what i,ve done, and the price of the model and all the rc gear...
